Overnight Oats

Overnight oats are quick to prepare and super helpful if you don’t have time in the morning to make breakfast before work or the school run. They provide protein, complex carbs and healthy fats to keep you feeling satisfied for longer.

Serves 1.

40g rolled oats

100g plain natural or Greek yoghurt, or dairy-free alternative

100ml milk or dairy-free alternative

1 small handful nuts (optional)

1 handful berries or 1-2 tbsp Stewed Fruit (optional)

1-2 tsp milled flaxseed (optional)

1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

1 tbsp chia seeds (optional) 1sp peanut butter

Method

Combine the rolled oats, yoghurt, milk, and a small pinch of salt in a bowl. Stir well to combine.

Cover and put in the fridge overnight.

In the morning, top with your favourite choice of toppings, such as nuts, milled flaxseed, berries, stewed fruit, and/or ground cinnamon. Top tip -I like to prepare my oats in leftover jars, it makes it so simple to grab them out the fridge in the morning. Depending on the the size of the jar you may need to adjust the quantity of milk. Top tip 2 - Use frozen berries and banana. It is cheaper to buy than fresh but just as nutritious and it will thaw overnight and tastes just as good.
